MY PASSIONS

Music…

My entire life is a musical. Everything reminds me of a song. If a song doesn’t exist to express what I want to say, then I’ll write it! Give me a statement and I will return to you a song.

Words…

Language spoken, sung, written, and drawn. I am passionate about communicating exactly what I want to say through a word or phrase. Words are powerful with them we can build, encourage, and inspire. I am always learning new words like “discombobulate” or “quagmire” and then slyly inserting them into my conversations.

People…

…and their vast array of culture, languages, and customs fascinate me. I immerse myself in other cultures, to get a glimpse of life from another person’s perspective. I love listening to their accents and guessing where they’re from. Then I go on to learn a phrase in their language or speak English in their accent. I grew up bilingual, which makes it easy for me to pick up languages. I proudly have a repertoire of 5 languages (English, Creole, French, Spanish & Tongues) as well as a growing storehouse of 10 different accents!

Beauty, fashion, design, decorating…

Beauty is to be celebrated. We are all beautiful. Embrace it, and then decorate it.

Art…

There’s something about paintings on a wall—small, large, abstract or concrete—that just captures me. My love for paintings has turned into a full blown art collection. I now hoard all kinds of paintings–especially ones of ships! What I love most about ship paintings is what the ships represent—a man-made instrument made to transport you across a vast ocean of the unknown! They call me to adventure and journey. This takes my breath away! It beckons me to jump in and set off on a journey.

Curling up with a great book on a freezing Florida night. Ooops… Ok I really am a warm weather girl. So that would be curling up under a palm tree with my guitar or a notebook to journal.

Cheese…

I love everything and anything with cheese! I never met a cheese I didn’t like, except for the spicy ones. Hold the jalepenos! Don’t misunderstand me, I love bold flavors like I love bold colors, I just want them to be soft enough to let me enjoy all the flavors and subtleties of the meal. Like writing a song, the right notes (the right mix of spices) bring out the depth, the richness, and the fullness of the artist.

I am sometimes a little irreverent, or tongue in cheek, but I am deeply, profoundly serious about my relationship with God. I think it is because He’s crazy about me and has won my heart. I am simply fascinated by Him and am convinced that I am His favorite!
